You can put up info, announce events, broadcast news to those who have signed up as members. Sites like ours, done on a voluntary basis, can get out-of-date, announcing say the Christmas party 2008! This software automatically deletes 'old' stuff, which is clever. And there's loads more like 'small ads', organising car lift schemes, and hosting sites for local businesses.
..this is a very good way of doing a village site. It works well, with good support, and importantly, in my opinion, is quite modest money! Recommend it.
